Rep. Virnig Legislative Update header

Friends and neighbors,

My name is Bianca Virnig, and I’m proud to be your new State Representative for District 52B, which includes the communities of Eagan, Mendota, and Mendota Heights.

First, I want to thank you for giving me the privilege of serving as your representative. Being trusted to legislate with my community’s best interest is not something I take lightly, and I’m excited to get to make real strides in creating a better Minnesota for all of us under the DFL trifecta. My new colleagues accomplished historic feats by addressing dozens of center-of-life issues last session, and I am ecstatic to now be a part of that work.

I also want to take a moment to sincerely thank Representative Ruth Richardson for her service to our community and the people of Minnesota. Her leadership over the past several years has made our community stronger, and her work created vital lasting change for the entire state.

If I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you yet, allow me to tell you a bit more about myself. Until sworn into the Minnesota House, I served on the Rosemount - Apple Valley - Eagan school board. I am also a member of the Deerwood Elementary PTO and the Director of Health and Safety for an education service cooperative. My background advocating for quality education is something I plan to continue to fight for as your representative. I have three kids who attend Minnesota public schools, and am grateful for the quality education they receive here in Eagan. I want to make sure all of Minnesota’s kids get the same quality education to set them up for success.

This session, I’ll be serving on the Elections Finance and Policy committee, the Human Services Finance committee, and the Education Finance committee. I’m incredibly excited and energized to get to work for you. The 2024 legislative session starts on February 12th. In the meantime, don’t forget to follow my Facebook page to stay up to date with the latest!
