Representative Kaohly Vang Her sworn-in to third term in Minn. House

Monday, January 9, 2023

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The 2023 Minnesota legislative session convened last Tuesday at noon in Saint Paul. Rep. Kaohly Vang Her (DFL – St. Paul) took the oath of office to begin her third term in the Minnesota House.

“It’s an honor to serve as my community’s voice once again at the capitol,” Rep. Her said. “This election showed us that gender equity must be addressed here in Minnesota and across the nation. As co-chair of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, I will be leading us through many of the issues and will work effectively and efficiently to ensure Minnesotans’ rights are upheld in legislation.”

The Reproductive Freedom Caucus was formed in 2021 amidst concerns that Roe v. Wade would be overturned by the Supreme Court of the United States. The caucus is poised to introduce legislation in the Minnesota House and Senate to address the issues of gender equity and reproductive freedom in the wake of the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade.

This session, Rep. Her will chair the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement. She will also serve on the Health Finance and Policy, Legacy Finance, and State and Local Government Finance and Policy committees.

Rep. Her encourages constituents to contact her throughout the session to offer input and feedback. She can be reached by email at rep.kaohly.her@house.mn.gov or by phone at 651-296-8799. Constituents are also encouraged to “like” Rep. Her’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RepKaohlyVangHer and sign up for email updates on her official House website.
