Dear Neighbors,
Just a couple hours ago, leaders in the House and Senate agreed on a bill to provide tax relief for families across our state. Over the next three years, the bill gives $825 million in tax relief to farmers, small business owners, military veterans, and recent college graduates. With a $900 million surplus, it’s encouraging to see the Legislature provide tax breaks for hardworking Minnesotans.
Negotiations on other bills are still in progress. With the breakthrough of a tax relief bill, I’m hopeful we can come to compromise on other areas of the supplemental budget or road and bridge funding. It’ll be a busy last couple days, and I’ll continue to keep you updated.
If you have a question on anything we’re discussing, please call or email. I’d love to hear your opinion on any topic before the Legislature.
Enjoy your weekend,
Nels
