Join me at a public hearing on Tuesday

Friday, January 17, 2020

Rep. Persell

Dear neighbors,

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season filled with family and friends, and that 2020 is treating you well so far. This year’s legislative session is less than a month away, so I wanted to let you know about an opportunity to share your thoughts with me and other state legislators before session begins.

I believe it’s important for elected officials to get out of the committee room and into the community as much as possible. That’s why I’m bringing the other members of the House Environment Policy Committee to our part of Northern Minnesota next week. On Tuesday, I’m holding a public hearing at the Bemidji State University American Indian Resource Center. The meeting will be about water quality and other environmental issues that impact our community. I hope to see you there.

I’m also taking my colleagues to several local sites, including the Badoura State Forest Nursery, the Bemidji Waste Water Treatment Plant, the Leech Lake Fish Hatchery, and the Cass Lake Superfund site that used to be the St. Regis Paper Company. I’m looking forward to taking my colleagues on a tour, and I hope that they’ll leave with a better understanding of how state legislators can support communities like ours.

Please feel free to share questions or feedback about the environment or other issues that are important to you. You can reach me anytime at 651-296-5516 or rep.john.persell@house.mn.

Sincerely,

John Persell
State Representative
