Employment protections for those who care for someone under quarantine would be extended under a bill passed 127-0 Tuesday by the House.
Sponsored by Rep. Duane Quam (R-Byron) and Sen. Michelle Benson (R-Ham Lake), HF3448/SF3102* is meant to prevent a caregiver from being fired from a job for providing care to the quarantined person.
It passed the Senate 63-0 May 8 and now goes to Gov. Mark Dayton.
Quam said he would have trouble working if he knew his child was home, under quarantine.
