WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Liz Olson, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 9:07 A.M. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF4738 (Huot) Office of Emergency Medical Services established to replace Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board, duties specified and transferred, advisory council established, alternative EMS response model pilot program established, conforming changes made, report required, and money appropriated.

Representative Huot presented HF 4738.

A quorum was present.

Chair Olson moved that HF 4738 be placed on the General Register.

Chair Olson renewed the motion that HF 4738 be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Edelson moved that the minutes of April 30, 2024, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF5335 (Noor) Human Services Supplemental Budget Bill

Representative Noor moved that SF 5335 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Noor moved to delete everything after the enacting clause and insert the language from HF 5280, the first engrossment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Noor moved the A19 amendment to SF 5335. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Noor presented SF 5335 as amended.

Representative Noor renewed the motion that SF 5335, as amended, be placed on the General Register, and that nonpartisan staff be directed to make any necessary technical changes THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting adjourned at 9:33 A.M.

SF5335 (Noor) Human Services Supplemental Budget Bill
HF4738 (Huot) Office of Emergency Medical Services established to replace Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board, duties specified and transferred, advisory council established, alternative EMS response model pilot program established, conforming changes made, report required, and money appropriated.

Bills Removed:
HF3992 (Lislegard) Local government and private ambulance service aid provisions modified, and onetime aid program established for licensed ambulance services, reports required, and money appropriated.

Note: The committee will consider a motion to substitute the House language for SF5335, the Senate companion to HF5280.
