MINUTES

Representative Michael V. Nelson, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM, March 10, 2020 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Huot moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 5, 2020 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved HF3356 be referred to the General Register.

Chair Nelson moved Amendment 3356A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF3356 (Sauke); Changing a provision for publication in the State Register; changing the date for the annual report on events held in the Capitol building.

The following testified on HF3356:

Erin Campbell, Assistant Commissioner, Facilities and Enterprise Services, Minnesota Department of Administration

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF3356, as amended, be referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved HF11 be rereferred to the General Register.

HF11 (Lesch); Providing for earned sick and safe time; appropriating money; authorizing rulemaking; imposing civil penalties; requiring reports.

Dori Leland, Enterprise Director, Compensation and Classification, Minnesota Management and Budget

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF11 be rereferred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved HF505 be rereferred to the Committee on Ways & Means.

HF505 (Fischer); creating a task force to study the design of the state flag.

Jack Kalkman, Student, Michigan Technological University

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF505 be rereferred to the Committee on Ways & Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved HF4190 be held over for further consideration.

HF4190 (Petersburg); Appropriating money for restoration of the honey house and shed at Hofmann Apiaries.
