STATE GOVERNMENT FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Nelson, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM, March 12, 2019 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

The following gave an overview of the Governor’s Proposed Budget for the Department of Administration for Fiscal Year 2020 – 2021:
Alice Roberts-Davis, Commissioner

Representative Huot moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 7th, 2019 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The committee recessed at 8:40 AM.

The committee reconvened at 8:45 AM.

HF 1355 (Claflin); Appropriating money for a women’s suffrage monument in South St. Paul; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

Chair Nelson moved that HF1355 be rereferred to the Committee on Ways and Means with a recommendation that it be referred to the committee on Capital Investment.

Deb Griffith, Community Affairs Liaison, City of South Saint Paul

Chair Nelson renewed his motion that HF1355 be rereferred to the Committee on Ways and Means with a recommendation that it be referred to the committee on Capital Investment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1461 (Claflin); Appropriating money for South St. Paul Doug Woog Arena HVAC improvements; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

Chair Nelson moved that HF 1461 be rereferred to the committee on Ways and Means with a recommendation that it be referred to the committee on Capital Investment.

Chair Nelson renewed his motion that HF 1461 to the committee on Ways and Means with a recommendation that it be referred to the committee on Capital Investment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
