MINUTES

Representative Nelson, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 7:59 AM, January 30, 2019 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Huot moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on January 29, 2019 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The following gave a review of Minnesota Public Television:

Dean Orton, Chief Operations Officer for PBS

The following gave a review of Minnesota Public Radio:
John Kavanagh, Senior Counsel and Managing Director, Public & Regulatory affairs

Representative Carlson assumed the gavel at 8:35 AM.

HF14 (Nelson, M.); relating to elections; transferring and appropriating money for the purposes of the Help America Vote Act.


Representative Nelson moved the H0014A3-1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Albright moved to orally amend the H0014A5 amendment by:
Page 1, Line 1.2 delete, $220,000 and inserting $163,000. THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Albright moved to amend HF14 with the H0014A5 amendment, as amendment. Representative Albright requested a roll call

Representative Nelson moved HF14 be re-referred as amended to the committee on Ways and Means with a recommendation to be placed in the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF17 (O’Driscoll, T.) relating to state government; appropriating money from the Help America Vote Act account for certain authorized purposes.

Representative Nelson moved HF17 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later date. Representative Albright moved to amend the motion, for HF17 to be re-referred to the committee on Ways and Means. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.THE MOTION PREVAILED.


The meeting was adjourned at 9:39 AM.
