MINUTES
Representative Mariani, Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 12:50 P.M. on February 20th, 2019, in room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Howard moved that the minutes for the February 14th, 2019 meeting be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1263 (Neu) Recreational vehicle DWI laws further conformed to general DWI laws, and technical corrections made.

Representative Nash moved to amend HF1263 with the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Chair Mariani laid over HF1263 for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Omnibus bill.

HF 50 (Hornstein) Cell phone use while a motor vehicle is in motion prohibited, with hands-free mode exception.

Representative Dehn made an oral amendment to insert “of” on line 1.3 on the A6 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Representative Dehn moved to divide the A6 amendment by making lines 1.1-1.3 the first part and lines 1.4-1.8 the second part. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Dehn moved that the first part of the A6 Amendment, as amended, be approved.

Representative Lucero requested a roll call vote, as amended, on the first part of the A6 Amendment.

Chair Mariani moved to re-refer HF50, as amended, to the Judiciary and Civil Law Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 1149 (Christensen) Conservation officers authority under DWI law expanded.

Representative Considine moved to re-refer HF1375 to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
