MINUTES
Representative Mariani, Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 12:45 P.M. on February 19th, 2019, in room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Christensen moved that the minutes for the February 14th, 2019 meeting be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1001 (Pinto) DWI law regarding how license plates are impounded and reissued modified, and criminal penalties provided.

Representative Pinto presented HF1001

Testifiers in support of HF1001:
David Bernstein, Chair of the Minnesota DWI Task Force.

Chair Mariani laid over HF1001 for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Omnibus bill.
HF 1002 (Pinto) DWI offenders’ driver's license reinstatement condition to take a specified examination not required.

Representative Pinto moved to amend HF1002 with the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Pinto moved that HF1002, as amended, be re-referred to the Transportation Finance and Policy Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 1061 (Lesch) Drivers' license suspension by the commissioner of public safety authority modified, retroactive driver's license reinstatement provided, technical changes made, and report required.

Representative Dehn moved that HF741, as amended, be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division.
