MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 12:50 P.M. on February 12th, 2019, in room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Dehn moved to amend the minutes to change Anika Bowie’s title from “Founder” to “Lead Coordinator” for the February 7th, 2019 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF70 (Kunesh-Podein) Task Force on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women created, annual report on violence against indigenous women and girls required, and money appropriated.

Chair Mariani moved to reconsider the vote by which HF70 was referred to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Mariani moved to amend HF70 with the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Mariani moved to return HF70, as amended, to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF418 (Moller) Criminal sexual conduct statutory reform working group created, and report required.

Representative Moller moved to reconsider the vote by which HF418 was referred to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Moller moved to recommend that HF418 be re-referred to the Government Operations Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF689 (Long) Probation length for certain offenses modified, and court-granted early termination and discharge of probation clarified.

Representative Long moved to amend HF689 with amendment A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Long presented HF689.

*Items HF 70 and HF 418 of the agenda will simply be a motion to correct previous motions. Both bills have been heard previously. Testimony was taken at that time. No further action will be taken on the bill other than to clarify and correct these motions.
