MINUTES


Representative Lesch, Chair of the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Division Committee, called the meeting to order at 9:45am on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Lesch began the meeting at 9:45 A.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Bahr moved the minutes from February 14, 2019 for approval. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Public Defenders began the budget request presentation.

Brian Aldes, Teasters Local 320 Secretary Treasurer and Business Manager
Jessen Alexander, Assistant Public Defender in the 9th judicial district

HF 400 (Olson) Opioid Stewardship Advisory Council, opioid stewardship account, and opiate product registration fee established; opioid addiction prevention, education, intervention, treatment, and recovery provisions modified; reports required; and money appropriated.

Representative Liebling motioned for HF 400 to be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Noor moved the HF 400 A19 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Olson presented HF 400 to the committee.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:03am.
