HUMAN SERVICES POLICY MINUTES

Representative Peter Fischer, Chair of the Committee on Human Services Policy, called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM on January 23, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Finke moved that the minutes from January 18, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 177 (Hanson); Unearned income included in economic assistance program calculations modified.

Representative Hanson moved that HF 177 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Children and Families Finance and Policy.

Testifying on HF 177:
• Ellen Smart, Attorney, Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid
• Ryan Johnson, Legislative and Policy Lead, Minnesota Department of Human Services

Representative Hanson renewed the motion that HF 177 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Children and Families Finance and Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
