CHILDREN AND FAMILIES FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Dave Pinto, Chair of the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:32 AM on February 16, 2023, in Room 200N of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Keeler moved that the minutes from February 9, 2023 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Coulter moved the minutes from the joint meeting of the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee and the Education Finance Committee on February 14, 2023 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1071 (Keeler) Minnesota Indian Family Preservation Act changes made.

Vice Chair Keeler moved that HF 1071 to be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Vice Chair Keeler presented HF 1071.
Vice Chair Keeler renewed the motion that HF 1071 be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Law. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Presentation by the Department of Human Services titled “Minnesota Family Investment Program and Divisionary Work Program.”

Vice Chair Keeler assumed the gavel at 9:42 AM.

HF 177 (Hanson, J.) Unearned income included in economic assistance program calculations modified.

Representative Hicks moved to bring HF 177 before the committee.

Representative Hanson, J. moved the A1 amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hanson, J. presented HF 177 as amended.
